What are Your BANNED QUESTIONS?

I'm excited to announce another upcoming book series called BANNED QUESTIONS, created/edited by me and published by Chalice Press.

The first two books, due out in 2011, are:

BANNED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BIBLE

BANNED QUESTIONS ABOUT JESUS

The idea is to take all of those questions that people feel like they're not supposed to ask about these topics, pose them to a group of writers, theologians, preachers, justice-seekers and various & sundry heretics to see what they think.

But ultimately the point is to help you decide for yourself what YOU think about these challenging topics.

Examples of possible questions for the first book are:

If Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus, why do gospel accounts trace his bloodline through Joseph?

Are there two creation stories? Why?

What does the bible really say about homosexuality?

Did the Gospel of John and Revelation almost not get included in the New Testament? Why?

Join our group on Facebook for an opportunity to chat about such controversial, confounding or even taboo questions, but it's also an opportunity for YOU to contribute to the series.

Not on Facebook? Send me an email at cpiatt@christianpiatt.com.

Tell me what your "banned" questions are. Nothing is off limits, so long as you're serious about wanting to know the answers.

I'm preparing a list of questions for my contributors now, so make and post those questions soon.

Also, if you know someone who absolutely should be involved in writing for this series (maybe even you?), give me a shout and I'll see what I can do about getting them involved.

Thanks, and keep those questions rolling in.
